Kragujevac (Beta) - The best Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic, said on Tuesday, that there was a great possibility that his family invested in the construction of a tennis centre in Kragujevac-in cooperation with the local government.
At the press conference in the city assembly of Kragujevac, Djokovic said that the realisation of this kind of project would help the development of the sport that was the most popular in Serbia this year.
He expressed his gratitude to the mayor of Kragujevac Mr Veroljub Stevanovic and to his collaborators fot the support.
"Belgrade is a metropolis and the capital of Serbia, but not the one and only town" - said Djokovic and added that Kragujevac was situated in the central part of Serbia, and was an ideal location for building a tennis centre.
Novak pointed out that he had information that all the tennis courts in Kragujevac were booked up and that people were greatly interested in tennis.
The mayor of Kragujevac Mr Veroljub Stevanovic thanked the famous Serbian tennis player, and poited out: "Kragujevac is ready to do everything it takes" to build the centre for young tennis players, and the courts where they could practice this sport.
At the press conference, the third ranked player in the world said he had a good rest after the hard season and that he was very motivated to become one of the two best players in the world in 2008.
"I didn't expect this huge success in the previous season, but the great effort and hard work obviously were worth it."
According to his words he is well aware of the elements in his game he has to improve, in order to become one of the two best players in the world.
"I have high goals for the next season. I want to win one of the Grand Slams, and I think that's not unrealistic."
He reminded that this season he played in two semifinals and one final of the Grand Slam tournaments on different surfaces, so he could expect high achievement on those tournaments next year.
Talking about his plans, Djokovic emphasized that he would start with serious preparations for the next season immediately after the humanitarian event on Friday, December 7th.
The plans first provide high-altitude preparations in Switzerland, and then a week of training in Monte Carlo.
Novak will open his season with an exhibition tournament in Perth, at Hopman Cup, in pair with Jelena Jankovic.
