Current superstar and number 1 seed for the 22nd BA-CA-Trophy, Novak Djokovic, is set to arrive in Vienna on Monday - a day after the tournament begins. The world number 3 is undergoing a rigorous training regime whilst still receiving treatment for a back injury, which forced him to retire from the tournament in Bangkok.
"I want to be 100% fit for Vienna and make up for last year's defeat (in the last 16 against Stanislas Wawrinka)."
The tournament directors will comply with his request for a late start, meaning that the Serb will not play before Tuesday. It looks likely that he will play his first match on Wednesday. Djokovic's coach Marijan Vajda has reported no further injury problems in training.
In total, the players set to battle it out in Vienna have won 14 tournaments this year:
Djokovic 4 (Adelaide, Miami, Estoril, Montreal)
Ljubicic 2 (Doha, Hertogenbosch)
Malisse 2 (Chennai, Delray Beach)
Baghdatis (Zagreb)
Canas (Costa Do Sauipe)
Chela (Acapulco)
Almagro (Valencia)
Moya (Umag)
Gonzalez (Peking)
